About this tool

What Is HEIC Format?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11. It uses HEIF compression, which produces images about half the size of JPEG at the same quality. While HEIC is efficient, it is not universally supported — many websites, email clients, and Windows applications only accept JPG or PNG.
Why Convert HEIC to JPG?
Converting HEIC to JPG ensures maximum compatibility. JPG is supported by every browser, operating system, email client, and website. If you need to upload photos to a government portal (passport, visa), submit to a school, or share with Android users, you need JPG format. This converter also lets you choose PNG (lossless) or WebP (best compression).
How Does Batch Conversion Work?
Upload multiple HEIC files at once. The tool processes each file through your browser's native image decoder (Safari supports HEIC natively; Chrome and Firefox may have limited support). Each photo is re-encoded to your chosen format (JPG, PNG, or WebP) at your selected quality level. You can download all converted files at once. No photos are uploaded to any server.
Frequently asked
Will my browser support HEIC decoding?
Safari (macOS and iOS) supports HEIC natively. Chrome 86+ and Edge may support it depending on your OS. If your browser cannot decode HEIC, you will see an error. For best results, use Safari on macOS/iOS, or install the HEIC Image Extensions from the Microsoft Store on Windows.
Does conversion reduce image quality?
Converting HEIC to JPEG at 92% quality produces minimal quality loss that is invisible to the human eye. Converting to PNG is lossless but produces larger files. WebP offers the best compression-to-quality ratio. You can adjust the quality slider from 50% to 100%.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. All conversion happens locally in your browser using HTML5 Canvas and the native image decoder. Your photos are never uploaded, stored, or transmitted. This ensures complete privacy — especially important for personal photos.
How many files can I convert at once?
You can convert as many files as your browser can handle in memory. Typically, 50-100 photos at once works well. Each file is processed sequentially to avoid memory issues. Large batches may take a few minutes depending on your device's processing power.
