What makes a QR code scannable — illustrated

A QR code is a grid of black and white modules. Structural helpers (the finder squares, timing lines and quiet zone) let any camera locate and size the code; the rest encodes your data plus error-correction redundancy, so scuffed or partially covered codes still decode.
