How an image becomes a PDF page — illustrated
Each image is embodied as a native PDF object (JPEG stays JPEG, PNG stays PNG; other formats are redrawn to PNG), then centered and scaled to fit the target page while preserving aspect ratio. The order you drag the thumbnails in is the order pages appear in the PDF.
'Fit to image' sizes the page to the photo. A4/Letter centers the photo with your margin so it prints consistently. The scale factor never exceeds 1 — small images are never upscaled and blurred.
