Browser-based beat maker with 48 synth pads, 16-step sequencer, XY effects, mic sampling, and session recording.
This tool runs 100% in your browser. All computation happens locally on your device — your input is never uploaded to any server. Results are for reference only.
LoopCraft is a generative step sequencer running entirely on the Web Audio API. Its 48 synth pads are procedural voices — kicks, snares, hi-hats, basses, melodies, and chords — generated with oscillators and envelopes rather than samples. The 16-step sequencer and a lookahead scheduler schedule every note against the audio clock before it is due, so the bar is phase-locked to the beat and loops without clicks or drift. Each instrument feeds a per-channel mixer, then a shared effects chain (low-pass filter, delay/feedback, reverb, distortion) that the XY pad morphs in real time. Because playback is sample-accurate and everything is re-synthesized locally, a loop can repeat indefinitely with perfect continuity.
Notes are scheduled ahead of the audio clock, so the bar rejoins the loop at the exact beat boundary. The XY pad cross-fades low-pass filtering against reverb while you play.
Nina needs a calm, loopable ambient bed for a YouTube video intro. She opens LoopCraft, picks the Ambient genre, and builds one bar of music that repeats without a seam.

LoopCraft is a browser-based beat maker built around 48 synthesized instrument pads and a 16-step sequencer. You tap pads to trigger synthesized drums, basses, keys, and melodic voices; lay patterns into the step grid; and shape the result with delay, reverb, and distortion effects plus an XY filter pad for live performance control. A microphone sampler lets you record your own voice or room sounds and drop them into the kit as playable pads. Session recording captures your live performance, and everything — synthesis, sequencing, effects — runs locally with the Web Audio API, so there is nothing to install and no account needed.
Producers sketching beat ideas between sessions when a full DAW is too heavy to open. Beginners learning step sequencing and beat structure without paying for software or fighting licensing. Content creators who need royalty-free background loops for videos and streams. Musicians experimenting with sampling — record a clap, a vocal stab, or a kitchen utensil and pitch it across the pads. Anyone on a locked-down machine — school, library, office — who still wants to make music in a browser tab.
(1) Pick a genre preset to load a starting kit and pattern, or start from an empty grid. (2) Arm steps on the 16-step sequencer for each instrument — the loop plays continuously while you edit, so you hear changes instantly. (3) Play pads live over the loop; the XY pad sweeps a filter across the mix for builds and drops. (4) Record a mic sample and assign it to a pad to layer your own sounds. (5) Dial in delay, reverb, or distortion per bus, then record the session and export the result as audio.
Most modern beats follow a small set of patterns you can copy directly. Start drums: a four-on-the-floor kick on every fourth step for house energy, or a boom-bap pattern with kick on steps 1 and 11 and snare on 5 and 13 for hip-hop. Add hats on every other step, then remove a few for groove — human rhythms breathe. Keep bass simple and low: one or two notes under the kick, following the same rhythm so they lock. Melody last, and less than you think — a two-note loop with delay and reverb sounds fuller than a busy phrase. The XY filter is your arrangement tool: record one pass with the filter closed, another open, and the contrast reads as a build and drop even over an identical pattern. When a loop feels stale, the classic fix is the mute test — silence elements one by one and bring them back at different times.
Yes, LoopCraft is 100% free with no signup, no watermark, and no usage limits. All audio synthesis happens in your browser using the Web Audio API — there are no server costs.
Yes. Use the session recorder to record your performance in real-time, then download as an audio file. The recording captures everything you play including pads, sequencer, and mic samples.
Yes, LoopCraft works on mobile browsers that support the Web Audio API. Touch the pads to trigger sounds. However, the mixer and FX controls are optimized for larger screens.
Yes. The mic sampler lets you record audio from your microphone, automatically trims it to the nearest bar length, and lets you loop or trigger it as a pad.
LoopCraft includes 4 genre presets: Techno (138 BPM), House (124 BPM), Ambient (90 BPM), and HipHop (90 BPM). Each preset loads a pre-configured sequencer pattern and active pads.
